On August 28, 2024, the Space Science and Geospatial Institute completed a 12-day training program for 45 experts from the main office and all four branch offices of the Oromia Cities Planning Institute. The training focused on GNSS and Surveying, Remote Sensing, and Advanced GIS.
Mr. Abdurazaq Umar, Deputy Director General of the Space Science and Geospatial Institute, spoke at the conclusion of the training program. He emphasized that efforts are being made to develop skilled manpower to enhance the geospatial sector and advance the institute’s vision.
The Deputy Director General added that the institute is committed to providing training to experts and leaders at all levels, equipping them with the latest technology to increase their knowledge in the field and fulfill their national responsibilities.
In order to enhance the geospatial sector and broaden our vision, we are focusing on developing skilled manpower, Abdurazaq Omar.
Merga Holika, Director General of the Oromia Cities Planning Institute, stated that the experts have gained essential knowledge in using GNSS and Surveying, Remote Sensing, and Advanced GIS, which will enable them to implement many effective projects planned for the region and improve service delivery.
Moreover, the Director General expressed his satisfaction with the training process. He not only thanked the institute for its significant contribution but also encouraged the experts to continue seeking professional support from the institute.
