Postgraduate and Research Administration Lead Executive Officer of Space Science and Geospatial Institute is pleased to announce the opening of applications for our new Postgraduate Program for the academic year 2024/2025.

We are pleased to inform all interested and qualified candidates that the application deadline for our postgraduate programs has been extended to 11 October 2024.

Eligiblilty

Msc and PhD in Remote Sensing

Msc

    • Bsc in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Geography, Surveying, Geology, Environmental Science and Metrology, Geoinformatics, Geomatics and Geodesy, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Land Information System

    • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge

PhD

  • Msc in Remote Sensing or Applied Geography

Msc and PhD in Space Science

Msc

  • Bsc in Physics, Meteorology, Applied Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering

  • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge

PhD

  • Msc in Space Science, Atmospheric Science, Astrophysics, Plasma Physics, or Applied physics and Mathematics

  • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge and computational skills (Matlab/Phython/R)

Msc and PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics

Msc

  • Bsc in Physics, Applied mathematics, and Electrical Engineering

    • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge

PhD

  • Msc in Space Science, Astrophysics, any Physics, and Applied Mathematics

  • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge and computational skills (Matlab/Phython/R)

PhD in Geodesy

  • Msc in Geodesy Geodynamics, Geophysics, and Geomatics

  • Computer Skill: Have basic computer knowledge and computational skills (Matlab/Phython/R)

Application requirements:

  • Applicants must pass the Graduate Admission Test (GAT) exam.

  • Msc applicants must have an undergraduate CGPA of at least 3.00.

  • PhD applicants must hold an MSc degree from a recognized higher learning institution with a CGPA of at least 3.00 and in good academic standing.

  • PhD applicants’ MSc thesis results should be at least “very good.”

  • Two letters of reference/recommendation from supervisors.

  • Authenticated copies of official transcripts.

  • Two copies of degree and transcript certificates (BSc and MSc degrees).

  • A letter of sponsorship from a government institution/organization.

  • A letter of motivation (max. two pages).

  • A short research proposal (max. 5 pages) for PhD applicants.

  • To complete your registration, you must submit your academic and other credentials in person at the SSGI Postgraduate Office, 2nd floor or send a copy of your application documents in a single PDF format to ssgipgr_office@ssgi.gov.et.
