Space and Geospatial Conference 2026 Ends Successfully

The Space and Geospatial Conference 2026 (S-ARC2026) has successfully concluded in Ethiopia. The conference was organized by the Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute under the theme “Space Science and Geospatial Innovation for Sustainable Development and Digital Transformation.”

The two-day event brought together researchers, scholars, government officials, professionals, and students. Participants came from institutions working in space science and geospatial technology. In addition, the conference created a platform for experts to share ideas and research findings.

During the event, researchers presented studies related to remote sensing, GIS, Earth observation, and digital technologies. Furthermore, participants discussed how space science can support sustainable development in Ethiopia. Many speakers also highlighted the role of geospatial technology in improving decision-making and national development.

The Space and Geospatial Conference also encouraged cooperation among institutions and researchers. As a result, participants exchanged experiences and built professional networks. Moreover, the event helped young researchers gain exposure to scientific research and innovation.

Participants explained that the conference plays an important role in strengthening Ethiopia’s research capacity. They also noted that innovation and technology are essential for the country’s digital transformation efforts. Likewise, experts stressed the importance of investing in science and research education.

In addition, the conference highlighted the growing importance of space science in environmental monitoring, disaster management, agriculture, and urban planning. Therefore, many participants called for stronger collaboration between universities, government institutions, and technology sectors.

The successful completion of S-ARC2026 once again showed the importance of space science and geospatial innovation in Ethiopia. The event also reinforced the need for continued research, innovation, and knowledge sharing to support sustainable development.
